This is an ancient city that was earlier referred to as Swenet that which was part of the ancient Egypt that used to face the south of Egypt. It is well known to have obtained its name from the Egyptian goddess with the name Swenet. This goddess was later on regarded as Eileithyia by the Greeks and the Lucina by the Roman people who had occupied the Ancient Egypt due to the similar relation with this goddess right from the time of birth. However, mainly the name Aswan originated from the Egyptian symbol that represented trading activities.

Aswan is a city that is well known to be the hottest in the entire Egypt. It has climatic levels that range between winters to a very hot season in the summer where there is no rain at all. During winter seasons, temperatures can go as low as 11 degrees Celsius at night and 25 degrees Celsius in day time. While in the summer time, the temperatures can go as low as 25 degrees Celsius and at night it goes to 40 degrees Celsius.
